How are you different from a traditional agency?

Traditional agencies work on fixed-scope projects with milestone payments and change orders. Every scope change becomes a negotiation. We work on dedicated monthly capacity: you buy hours per week, and we allocate them across whatever priorities matter that week. No surprise scope changes, no change orders, no re-quoting. We also take full delivery ownership. Most agencies hand you a ticket list and wait; we own the plan.

Do you do fixed-scope milestone projects?

Our default is monthly capacity because it produces better outcomes for most clients. If you need fixed-scope work for regulatory or finance reasons, we can scope it separately as a paid discovery: $2,500 for a 2-week architecture review, timeline, and cost estimate. We credit the $2,500 against month 1 if you move forward.

What do you need from us to start?

Accepted Answer

A short onboarding call, access to your tools (Slack/Teams, Jira/Linear/Asana, GitHub/GitLab), and a clear starting priority list. If you have documentation, we use it. If you don’t, we help create it in the first week. We can typically have a pod embedded and shipping within 7 days of contract signing.

Will you work in our timezone and business hours?

Yes. We structure each pod around a live collaboration window that overlaps your business hours. AU clients get close to a full workday of overlap. UK and EU clients get 4–6 hours of live collaboration in the morning, with async progress running through your evening. There are no timezone gaps in your experience.

Who do we talk to day-to-day?

You get direct messaging access to the pod in your Slack. A named Delivery Lead is your primary point of contact, with direct access to the engineers doing the work. Day-to-day conversations happen in Slack, with weekly structured updates and monthly strategic reviews.

Question 6

What does “delivery ownership” mean in practice?

Accepted Answer

We don’t wait for tickets. We help define the work, break it down, manage the priority queue, ship the code, run QA, and drive releases. You collaborate (review designs, approve architecture, give feedback), but you are not managing developers day-to-day. That’s our job.

What happens if priorities change mid-week?

Accepted Answer

Normal and expected. We re-prioritise based on what unblocks progress fastest, communicate the trade-offs clearly, and keep the plan visible in your tools. The capacity stays the same; what it’s spent on can shift.

Do you provide design as well as development?

Accepted Answer

Yes. UI/UX, product design, prototyping, and dev-ready handover are all part of the flexible role mix in every pod. Starter includes fractional UI/UX capacity, Growth has more, and Enterprise has dedicated design. If you need heavy dedicated design work on top, we can scope that.

Do you handle QA and testing?

Yes. QA is baked into the delivery process, not bolted on at the end. We write tests alongside code, run pull-request reviews with quality gates, and handle cross-browser or cross-device verification where relevant. For clients who want a dedicated QA engineer isolated from the dev pod, that’s a $1,800/mo add-on.

Who owns the IP and the code?

You do. From day one. The code lives in your GitHub or GitLab repositories. No escrow, no held IP, no licensing games. If you ever stop working with us, you take everything with you and nothing breaks.

How do you handle security and privacy?

Accepted Answer

Least-privilege access by default. Every pod member only has access to what they need. We document data flows, raise privacy and security risks early, and align to your compliance requirements. For regulated industries we have standard DPA and SCC Module 2 templates ready to sign, and EU-resident sub-processor options for sensitive PII workloads. SOC 2 and ISO 27001 are on the 2026 roadmap.

What does the 30-day guarantee actually cover?

Three things. One: if we don’t ship your first production PR within 5 business days of kickoff, we refund the first week. Two: at day 30, if it doesn’t feel like a clear upgrade on your prior setup, it’s your call. No negotiation, full refund of month 1, and you keep all the code. Three: after month 1, any sprint commitment we miss gets recovered with free extra capacity the following sprint.

What counts as a “missed commitment”?

A commitment is an agreed delivery outcome for a given timeframe that both sides lock in during sprint planning. If we miss it because of our delivery (not client-side blockers like delayed feedback or dependency issues), we add extra capacity the following sprint at no cost.

Can we cancel anytime?

Yes. No lock-in. 30 days’ notice is standard so we can plan the pod wind-down professionally, but there are no long-term commitments.

Flat monthly. Three tiers: Starter at $5,995/mo for 40 hours a week, Growth at $9,995/mo for 80 hours a week, Enterprise from $14,995/mo for 120+ hours a week. All prices in USD. For UK, AU, and EU clients we can invoice in local currency at the mid-market exchange rate. No setup fees, no onboarding fees, no hidden costs.

Senior-level, typically 6+ years of production experience on modern stacks (Next.js, TypeScript, Node, Python, AWS). Every engineer is full-time CodeMagic, not a freelancer. That means consistency, accountability, and the same senior reviewing every pull request.
